Here is my rebuttal to the claim by @DavidGHFrost that the Level Playing Field requirements the EU are asking for are "unprecedented" which I wrote 5 hours and 26 minutes before he made the statement, but let's go even further.
If we're talking unprecedented, the Ukraine deal has a much stronger type of dynamic alignment. The alignment that we find in the EU proposal to the UK is kind of the second phase as far as the DCFTA goes.
Certain regulation goes through a council as proposed to the UK, but also certain regulation gets automatically updated.
In that the EU sends a notification to the other party and they have X amount of time to legislation and bring themselves up to the EU standard.
They don't stay like that forever, eventually they all revert to the council method.
But it is important to note that the DCFTAs can have far more aggressive alignment than what is being proposed to the UK.
So calling the weaker mechanism "unprecedented" is simply ridiculous.
