Improve your writing by adding twice as many ideas in half as many words.
Dense writing doesn’t need to be confusing.

Great online writers give their readers as much insight in as few words as possible — even in a long-form essay.

This post from @sivers is a masterclass in punchy writing.

All the fog has been removed, so every word supports the main message.
Here’s another brilliant article from Seth Godin.

His books are a collection of short snippets like this one, with a clear message and no wasted words.
True, there are many ways to write.

Don’t get the idea that short articles are the only solution. If that was true, I wouldn’t write 15,000-word essays like this one.

But no matter the length, I delete wasted words so I can increase the density of ideas.

By the time I hit publish, I want nothing but CLEAR sentences.

CLEAR stands for:

1) Connect to the previous sentence.
2) Link to the following sentence.
3) Eliminate anything that adds confusion.
4) Add colorful details.
5) Remove unnecessary words.

“Most people handle words as if they were pennies: light, cheap, dispensable. Instead, I want you to handle them as if they were manhole covers or 45-pound weights in the gym. Think before you pick them up. Look before you put them down.“
