the kids and i made a rock toucan. i am going to miss them very much when we head back to nyc tomorrow and the impromptu family catskills child care collective splits up. 
my sister found some childcare that is reliable and hasnt seen her kids in two months while working the covid wards. ive been grateful to be safe and part of a unit and with the best kids in the whole world. but its time to move on and go back to the city i love.
i made so much soup. my four year old nephew now says he likes to "incorporate the flour" with his whisk. my two year old niece learned a lot of words (mostly "why?" and "no"). we grew a little garden. i will miss them a lot.
