THREAD: "In the early morning on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in General Trias City, Cavite wherein a certain Ronald Campo was held under the custody of General Trias Police Station for Violation of Liquor Ban, Curfew and no Quarantine Pass."

This was what happened...

First: "While policemen were busy processing the data of ECQ Violators, Campo tried to escape away from the police station. He accidentally slipped and bumped at the motorcycle parked near the station that caused his bruises and injuries on his arm and face."

Second: "He was brought back to the station ... but suddenly he ran away and fell on the pavement twice before he finally jumped over a creek with a knee deep muddy water without regarding the broken bottles and garbage but he still managed to disappear in darkness."

Third: "The suspect was also seen climbing through a concrete fence with barbed wire on top going to the roof of the house of Mr. Jaime Portugues Mission. Uncontrollable movements caused him to fell on the ground."

Fourth: "He grabbed Milagros Mission as hostage apparently, but was immediately pre-empted by Jaime Mission and several BPATs."

"While being nabbed, Milagros Mission, armed with a long wood, struck the suspect on his head several times."

Fifth: "The suspect moved again to the fence and jumped over the adjacent residential property and later fell on the empty swimming pool. He was finally cornered and handcuffed by chasing policemen."

Sixth: "Suspect ... ran again towards Brgy. Vibora but was eventually apprehended and was brought [to] the police station where the faucet of water is located [about 50] meters away for them to rinse him. [He] again tried to run towards Brgy. Corregidor but [cops caught him].

Seventh: "While walking back to the location of the faucet, suspect ran towards Seven Eleven Convenience Store but his foot tripped on the rope installed as barrier due to ECQ. He tumbled down hardly causing his chest and face to smash on the pavement."

"On that circumstance, suspect was not able to get up anymore."

"Policemen ... rushed the suspect to Gen. Trias Medicare Hospital at Brgy. Pinagtipunan for treatment and was subsequently transferred to Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital at Trece Martires City."

"Some of his actuations nearly put himself in peril by hiding into the creek full of garbage, pieces of roof, broken crystal and similar objects. Similarly, when he jumped from the roof of Jaime’s house more or less twelve feet in height."

"The worst of it was when he ran away and his foot was caught by the rope smashing himself on the pavement making him severely injured on his chest and face and probably around his body."

"Statements from witnesses were also deemed clear that self-inflicting injuries have been sustained by Ronald Campo while escaping contrary to what is being circulated in the media that he was physically harmed by the Police Officers..."

"Our police officers, sworn to enforce the law with utmost respect for human rights, exhibited good faith by immediately bringing the suspect to the hospital for medical attention."

"Marlon Solero, Chief of Police of General Trias immediately relieved the two involved policemen to provide impartial investigation to any formal complaint that will be filed against them"

"Let us not be swayed by rush judgements based on emotions. Let us further look on the other side of the coin and see what is true based on evidence, facts and statements coming from the witnesses."

"Rest assured that we will still dig deeper into the matter and if found that there were irregularities on the part of the police officers, we will take appropriate actions. Thank you."
