Sabi ng iba, "the world will never be the same again after this pandemic." Ergo, let's expect to see them join in ushering in a new and better presidency and social system.

That's the tweet.
If you classify yourself among the woke and the politically-advanced, maybe it is time to discard your old belief about "voting wisely" as the "solution". That's unscientific. Don't forget that the system is rigged, dom'd by guns and big money, matapobre, and resistant to change.
Yung mga nagpupush ng "vote wisely" sa panahon ngayon ay fixated lang sa eleksyon o nangangampanya na. Ang kailangan natin ngayon ay "healthcare for all", "protection of the most vulnerable", "support for healthcare workers", "emergency aid for workers and farmers". Iba di ba?
While elections are important, we can't reduce everything to elections. We can't tell ourselves and our people to just wait for 2022, or fall for another political superhero promising change. Perpetual division yan.

The thing is, there's more that unites us.
Napaisip lang kasi ako ng paulit-ulit na nagsasabi na "there's a new normal now".

Partly true. But such a new normal cannot just be about individuals doing all the adjusting. Big social, economic and political changes must also take place.
Example: There should be no place for “Endo”, job insecurity, and “no work, no pay” in the so-called new normal.

The wealthy who are annoyed that workers desperately cling to their jobs now should be able to provide better jobs, not steal their social security, give insurance.
Example: We should provide students with computers and data connection at school and at home. They’re no longer “nice to have”, but a “must-have”.
Example: There should no longer be “volunteer nurses” in the new normal. The government must fill all the 17,000 vacant plantilla positions in the Public Health Service, and open thousands more such plantilla positions. Expand public hospitals kasi ito pala ang mahalaga.
Example: Future pandemics should be managed nationally by doctors and scientific experts. Not by generals and certainly not by an inept president na mukhang pera lang pala.
Example: Directly and immediately providing relief goods and economic aid should be prioritized over the issuance of “quarantine passes”. May pass ka nga, gutom o wala ka namang pera o mabili.
Example: There should be no more vegetables destroyed by the truckloads. Our government should buy those vegetables and sent to where they are needed, and thereby help both the farmers and the consumers.
Example: Any public official who even attempts to secure special or VIP treatment for medical services such as testing amid a public health emergency should be immediately considered resigned from office and perpetually banned from seeking or holding office.
Example: No street or palengke vendor should be left without social protection such as health insurance and unemployment insurance.
