The order in-itself was not so deadly as the things surrounding it: No families permitted, the change of protocal at homes/hospitals how to treat patients and the mass panic thay everyone will get Covid and also die. “We need 30K vents in 14-21 days” created a MESS up/down!
.@PoliticalShort Many nurses were scared to go into rooms so they avoided it as much possible; protocol that delayed care were implanted (endless change of PPE between patients), and vents were used on people on whom it was not needed. All this was done based on flawed data.

On 3/23/20, Cuomo expected a need for 30K-40K ICU in the next 14-21 days. If the ICU count rose by 1,800 a day for 18 days starting RIGHT THEN, we would reach mid 30K, but NY was doing 350 new ICUs a day yet he kept yelling 30K!

.@PoliticalShort Instead of rising daily by 1,800 ICUs (which would cause NY to hit 30K+ ICU at Apex in the second week of April), NY added only 300-350 a day.

On March 25th, I did the math as to what a monumental growth in cases and in ICUs needed to suddenly happen from one day to the next for Cuomo’s fear to come true. But... Nobody in relevant places read it. Simple math was more accurate than “models” which were proven wrong daily.
