#Amphan clicked two hours ago, hurtling at speeds upto 270 kmph, now officially the strongest Cyclone ever recorded in the Bay of Bengal, surpassing Bob-06, the 1999 Odisha super cyclone.

THIS, for me, was the most important message of the speech, and if realised we are truly looking at a new India.

44% of our 475 million-strong labour force is in the Agricultural sector (2% in the West); and yet the latter contributes only 12.5% to GDP.
As far as Science and Technology is concerned, this is draconian and monumentally regressive.

Most hi-tech equipments used in the domain of the sciences, esp Biology, are not made in India. How will Government research centres and labs function? MADNESS.
Local has to be sector-based. You can go local in Agriculture or Tourism, but not when it comes to Science and security.

Uncle chips over Pringles; Amul over Häagen Dazs; Ajanta Ellora over Big Ben - sure. But Guduchi over Bedaquiline; Shilajit over Viagra; Tejas over Rafale?

Sometimes a single tweet can describe the character of a leader.
Abject mockery of the lockdown. But it is easy to blame the violators; one has to ask: who is allowing them to violate; who controls the administration and the Police?

Give me ONE reason why CM @vijayrupanibjp shouldn't be blamed and hauled up for this.
Terrible visuals coming out of Bengal. The police was just trying to enforce the lockdown in Tikiapara, Howrah, a CoVID hotspot.

Wonderful discussion between @kushal_mehra and Prof @dasgobardhan, the scientist who knows most about the BCG and discovered the reasons behind its efficacy. Listen to the expert, ignore the fly-by-night operators and epidemic fortune-hunters.
Great news. Based on @dasgobardhan's idea and proposal - that M(w) strain provides an even better immune response than BCG - India begins clinical trial of M(w) for CoVID patients.

Would have been nice had @drharshvardhan at least thanked Prof Das for it.
