1/ So this person believes the opposite of libertarians. Libertarians are dead set against Trump's immigration/asylum policies. Libertarians are more pro-immigration than Democrats are.
2/ Libertarians area also against locking people up for crimes, pushing for reforms to reduce jail time and reduce the number of laws people can violate to go to jail. If you though Democrats were on the side of criminals, you haven't met a Libertarian.
3/ The Koch brothers, the libertarians the left-wing loves to hate, hire former criminals. If your felony conviction bars you from most employment, go to work for a Koch company, they'll hire you.

1/ In infosec, we started out as the outsiders, and defended ourselves against others trying to enforce their norms upon us. Now we've become insiders trying to enforce our norms on others.
2/ The mantra "Portscans are not illegal" was from a time when we wanted to do them, and resented people who wanted to stop us from doing them. So we vigorously defended the principle.
3/ Now we are often in the drivers seat. We now have the ability to enforce our norms upon normal IT and networking. We ourselves don't want to browser-portscan because, well, we can't: we don't have websites visited by millions of people.

1/ While this article on threat modeling isn't bad, neither is it anywhere close to how I'd describe "threat modeling".

2/ It mentions NotPetya taking down Maersk, blaming nation-state malware that was weaponise. That's the wrong threat model. The correct threat model is lateral spreading through windows credentials with PsExec.
3/ Likewise, the correct threat model includes entry of NotPetya from the public Internet like historic worms, but from subvertef software updates and from partners over private VPNs.

If this is how you define political issues, then you are unfriending people over politics. The right-hand side doesn't list beliefs but strawman caricatures.
Instead of unfriending people, I take the opposite approach and seek be unfriended. You believe in the Biblical definition of marriage? Okay, let's look at the Bible and how that definition is men marrying multiple underaged girls.
Let's look at all the multi-divorcees who admire who are champions of the Biblical definition of marriage. **Trump** cough.
