I reviewed hundreds of resumes this month. Here are the common issues I found. Thread.
Talk more about the things you achieved and accomplished at each job in your resume. Never write “Worked on an iOS application.” You need to have more than 2 tiny bullet points. Give some detail!
Not using a resume template that stands out. I suggest you try using Canva (free & easy tool that also has resume templates) and making it unique.

I’ve been on hiring teams at big companies like Eventbrite and small startups as well. I’ve started doing resume reviews as much as I can to try to give back. Here’s a thread of the feedback that I give to almost all of the resumes I review.
1. Ask for as much help as you can editing.

Have as many friends as you can check your resume for spelling, formatting or issues with grammar.

I cannot tell you how many resumes I review that have a few errors that stick out immediately. Recruiters notice this.
2. Sell yourself more in your resume.

Don’t be shy about your accomplishments. I have a paragraph in bold for every job I’ve had that lists one impressive achievement I had on that job.

So many people have reached out to me asking how they can get a coding job offer fast. Here’s how I got a job two weeks after my coding bootcamp graduation. Thread
I treated my job search like it was my job. I worked from 9AM to 6PM every day no matter what.
I didn’t waste time on companies that wanted me to do complicated algorithm take homes. I’d stop the process immediately. That gave me more time to interview with companies where it would be a culture fit.
