1. Covid-19 is truly unique because it's a profoundly anti-social disease that blocks the way we interact, instinctively, as human beings.

2. Beyond this unique feature, three things also are truly unfortunate about this pandemic: the lives it has wasted, the economic catastrophe it has wrought, and the conspiracy theories it has bred - from 5G to the anti-Christ and the mark of the beast.
3. The politicization of science and public health, and the inability of many to distinguish between religious faith, presumption and foolishness can undermine the health and safety of us all.
4. We will enter the second phase of this battle of conspiracy theories, emotions vs rationality, sentiment vs fact, if and when vaccines for Covid are rolled out in 2021. This battle will be global, in the West (especially in America) and in Africa, but worse in our continent.
5. Some influencers (well beyond social media) will work hard to spread falsehoods about vaccines. Most of those who will lead many astray , in the name of religion or non-religious conspiracies, may be alive and able-bodied today bcos they received various vaccines as children:
6. BCG, polio, cholera, smallpox yellow fever, meningitis, diphtheria, HPV, etc. They were vaccinated bcos they had responsible parents who loved them and guarded their children's health, so their kids will become adults and bury their parents and not the other way around.
7. I don't believe vaccinations for #Covid_19 should be by force or by law (some of us may wish to remain face-mask fashionistas for the rest of our lives!) but there should be extensive, vigorous public education about the personal and public health benefits of vaccinations.
8. You probably won't be able to travel to certain or several countries, without a Covid vaccination certificate, just like for yellow fever. Many schools may require it for admissions or reopenings after holidays. Millions will clamor for the vaccines of their own free will.
9. If you choose, however, NOT to take an anti-Covid vaccine because you believe in some fringe conspiracy theory, or bcos you mis-apply certain tenets of religious faith, it's your personal decision. You will bear the risk personally, and expose others like you to risk.
10. But please DO NOT endanger the lives of fellow human beings, fellow citizens, by spreading false and fake news about vaccines. They have saved hundreds of millions of lives since Edward Jenner developed the first smallpox vaccine over two centuries ago in 1798.
11. If one or more vaccines are confirmed to work against Covid-19, they will save millions more.
