I think that all the academicians who are discussing the SAT/ACT should have been required to register for and take an official SAT/ACT.

"The SAT is standardized" is a refrain that is not born out in on the ground practice and in score use impact.

Every time the #SAT is redesigned they claim it NOW aligns with high school work, when previously it didn't.

There is a report I can't find (this might be it) that showed the UCs didn't use SAT/ACT for anyone with GPA above a certain mark as recently as the 2000s. Why has that not be discussed? senate.universityofcalifornia.edu/_files/committ…

What are college readiness benchmarks? A prediction of earning a C in a related class.
A 10 (which is less then one would get guessing entirely randomly) on the ACT english predicts about a 60% chance of earning a C or higher in English 1.

God, hearing college president say they use SAT math to judge ability in engineering scares me. I can answer every question on the SAT but can't do the least bit of pre-calc.

Last year California had 272,892 SAT test takers. They represented 12.29% of SAT test takers.
