Meditation is all about acknowledgement & redirection

1. Make yourself aware when you got distracted

2. Redirect the focus back to your target

These 2 simple steps are all you need

No need to overcomplicate it with too much theory & items
Meditation is a great way to sharpen your mind & connect it with emotions

A strong habit that helps more than it hurts

And it's all about doing less..👇
Theres a lot of reasons for meditation

And we all have our personal definitions

☆My personal definition is to control the mind.
The mind has many faculties.

☆It has a flurry of thoughts. Picture a bowl of water being shaken.

☆picture. This is when your are AWARE of one of the flurry of thoughts

☆the intellect

☆the ego
'Wow man! That's a lot to control. I'm a little nervous.'

Don't be.

If you can control 1 thing, you can control MANY things
Just like when you press on the accelerator in the car

A lot of other parts are moving behind the scenes.

However, you're not aware.

You just focus on clicking the accelerator
Meditation isn't about stopping thoughts

Its more about exercising your awareness
Everything we do In this world ties back to awareness at one point or another

We have different methods of getting to the same truth

But awareness is something no one can deny
Therefore the purpose of meditation is to exercise that awareness

Make your awareness powerful.

And the mind becomes tamed
A tamed mind is dope as fuck

You can do a lot of things with it

The more you meditate, the more your mind feels like matter.
You can visualize solutions

Plant ideas to your subconscious mind

Create art in the mind & then relay it to the external world..etc
The mind doesn't follow the same rule set as the external world

With the external world, there is space, time & causation

With the mind, the only rules you have are the ones you place on yourself
If you wanna learn more about the universe, you gotta tame the mind G.

No way around that.

And meditation is the finest technology to get there
First, understand that everyone wants a tamed mind.

But few will put in the work

The mind doesn't tame on it's own. It requires an aware trainer
Next, you gotta understand how your mind works a tad bit before you start meditating

Just sit and observe what happens.

Your first insight will be that your mind is always moving

Normal...
It's the nature of the mind to move.

To be wavy

Therefore that's where the training part comes in
When you set time to meditate, start of light in the beginning

5 minutes a day beats 0 minutes a day.

5 minutes a day beats 30 minutes a day for 4 weeks & then quitting cold Turkey
Leave your pride on the door step.

Focus on working your way up

You don't go to the gym trying to lift the heaviest weight possible If it's your first time in the gym.

So have that same mentality with meditation
Meditation = Mind workouts

So set aside a certain amount of day everyday

And I recommend having a similar time you do it every day

I do it in the morning & night
Then from there.

1. Make yourself aware when you lost focus of your target.

2. Gently bring the mind back to the target

The target can be breath or some image.
Avoid throwing a hissyfit when your mind wandered

Remember what I said... it's the nature of the mind to wander

All good bud
Also, I said that meditation is about exercising awareness

So the simple fact that you made yourself AWARE that you got distracted will pay dividends
Making yourself aware of your distraction & bringing it back to the target is a mental rep

Sort of like a bicep curl for the mind
In the beginning, you'll notice it takes a LONG time to make yourself aware.

That's bc at this stage, you identify a lot with your thoughts
Later on in the game, you're able to detach from the thoughts much quicker

Your awareness muscle is strengthening champ
Make this a habit. Practice it everyday

Side effects of meditation include:

Enhanced focus
Emotional intelligence
Better ability to learn
Mental toughness

Etc
Strengthening your mind

Become a mega mind

Be confident by taking time out everyday to build the habit of meditation
Meditation is what I call a cornerstone habit

It's a habit that spills over to other parts of your life & allows you to amplify your presence
Just one final note.

Meditation will not turn poor habits upside

If you meditate & go back to scrolling non stop on your phone, binge drinking, hanging with toxic ppl...

Your effects won't be as strong
Meditation is meant to amplify a life

Adopt the level up mentality.

'What's that?'

☆make today better than yesterday & tomorrow better than today

This simple mantra makes you improve
Then add meditation into your journey

Be consistent.

Stick with it long enough until the 'routine' becomes a 'ritual.'
We don't fuck with our rituals...we always show up to those

Not because we have to.

But because we want to

You'll get there too. Just keep climbing that ladder
