WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR BABY

GIVING YOUR BABY WATER CAN MAKE HER COME DOWN WITH MALNUTRITION

A newborn baby's sromach is very tiny.
It can admit only 6-7 mls of contents at a time. This is about 2 teaspoonfull.
At the end of the first week, it can admit upto 10 teaspoonfull of contents only.

Apart from this, a baby's stomach can't stretch like an adult's own.

Hence, your Baby Should be Fed with Breastmilk alone for the first 6 months of life.
The baby should not be given water. When you give your baby water, you fill up the tiny stomach and leave little or no space. Your baby hence feeds less of breastmilk which contains all the nutrients she needs. This can cause Malnutrition.
Breatmilk is a special formular mixed by God himself. It contains all the water and every other nutrient the baby needs.

88% of Breastmilk is Water. This means that in every 10mls of Breastmilk, there is 8.8mls of water. Your baby does not need any extra water.
Some mothers I get to counsel give me excessive crying as a reason they started giving a baby water. They said they thought the baby was not satisfied with the milk hence the crying.

Crying is the baby's only way of communicating.
A baby will cry if the room is too hot.
A baby will cry if the room is too cold.
A baby will cry if her diaper is soiled.
A baby will cry if he needs someone to play with her.
A bay will cry is the room is too bright.
A baby will cry if she doesn't like a visitor's face.
Crying is not a sign that your baby is not satisfied.

Don't give your baby water for the first 6 months.
