BBC reporting on Cummings Scandal. I've numbered the paragraphs to show an implicit (or perhaps explicit) hierarchical bias that serves government line. 1) leads in with gov explanation 2) Embellishes Cummings justification 3) Cites non-damning police reprimand 4)cites opposition
5) Reverts to government explanation and justification. So along with the headline, which privileges no 10 explanation, the article seems arranged to treat Cummings with kid gloves #dominicgoings
The BBC ran another piece to more focused on the fact Cummings travelled. More damning, but it's centred around calls on Cummings to resign, but not on whether Cummings actually violated lockdown rules. Interesting in terms of framing bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
