One of the professors on Sage’s sub committee on public behaviour - ie who analyse and advise on how to get public to enact the changes in behaviour to get infection rate down:
So that’s now three experts on key Sage behavioural subcommittee publicly agree that “Boris Johnson has trashed all the advice we have given on how to build trust and secure adherence to the measures necessary to control COVID-19”...

It was only two months ago that the Government defended itself from the suggestion that it was too slow to lockdown in face of rapid epidemic, by suggesting we all acquaint ourselves with behavioural science...
Two more members of SPI-B - Val Curtis & LSHTM, and Prof John Drury @ Sussex both retweeted @reicherstephen saying PM has “trashed” advice - thats 5 in total from Sage subcommittee who have expressed themselves or recirculated this view, out of 23 non Government members
While judging by feeds, some have clearly not been biggest fans of the PM generally, it is interesting that a chunk of the Government’s own behavioural science advisory committee, have publicly expressed this episode itself could “trash” the message on infection control.
If you have read the SPI-B papers what’s interesting is that they are constantly making the argument about mass persuasion of public and sustainability of lockdown on basis of perceived fairness, and comparing with other countries...
So perhaps some of this response unsurprising
The @fph is the standard-setting body for public health in the UK...says it’s “deeply concerned” that recent Government actions “undermine essential public health messaging” at crucial time...
