2.) himself, Parents and children (unmarried daughter and son till he ages of 25 years). This service was being efficiently and effectively organized and provided for in military Hospitals till ECHS came into being. Even for ECHS the dependency remained the same as above.
3.) However, due to nonpayment of Hospitals Bills to the empanelled Hospitals ex-Servicemen and their dependants are being refused, medical treatment causing serious hardships. A JCO was admitted in Medanta hospital Gurgaon and unfortunately he passed away.
4.) Medanta Hospital Guargaon refused to release the body of the JCO till a sum of Rs 11 lakhs were deposited by the family. The issue was brought to Notice at Night and the matter was taken up with the MD ECHS. Inspite of MD ECHS speaking to empanelled Hospital, the body was
5.) not released till d son had to sell only house in Meerut to deposited d money & only then the body of JCO was released. Unacceptable misery was heaped on the family of the JCO. Though, subsequently, on taking up d issue very strongly the amount was re-imbursed to the family.
6.) This trend is on the increase. This has left very demoralising effect on all ranks of military and needs to be corrected on priority. Establishment of 13 veterans hospitals across the country, an urgently needed facility is pending with govt for long time. Such hospitals are
