Hawaii, which is very dependent on tourism, has extended their stay at home until end of June despite the state having one of the lowest case rates in the country and having peaked in mid-April. In addition, the Governor is actively discouraging tourism.

Crazy.
This is how you end up with people not taking restrictions seriously and openly rebelling against stay-at-home orders. It’s not based on science or any reasonable standard. It’s just power-hungry politicians seizing on a crisis to abuse their power.
The state’s last reported COVID-19 death was over 3 weeks ago on May 3rd.

How do you possibly justify locking down the entire state for another month, @GovHawaii?

Worth noting that @GovHawaii was already ranked the most unpopular Governor in the country going into this crisis. Doubt his actions here will help much.

Talking about complex topics on Twitter is always questionable, but I will try anyways:

We give up some liberties to the state so the state will protect us and our rights. That comes with responsibility. We cannot accept the state abusing that power to unjustly take lives.
It has become clear, especially over last few years, that abuse is happening far too often. Police officers have tough jobs, but they also get extra power and thus have a responsibility not to abuse it.

Most do not and it's unfair to judge whole groups bu the actions of some.
With that said, we need structural changes to ensure that those who do abuse it are held accountable and such abuse is disincentivized. Solutions such as body cameras, better training, and real accountability when the abuse becomes clear is desperately needed.

This is revisionist nonsense. It’s true that widespread mask wearing in February likely would have significantly lowered transmission, but 1) Surgeon General, CDC, and WHO were advising against it at the time because of incorrect assumptions based on bad info from China.
2) There is no reason to believe that Trump wearing a mask would have led to widespread usage. Especially since the worst virus breakouts were in areas that are deep blue and aren’t known for following Trump’s lead.
Then Andy also tries to blame Trump for the diastrious nursing home situation which was overwhelmingly cause by a few blue state Governors (PA, MI, NY, NJ etc) forcing those homes to accept Covid-19 patients.
