Germany’s constitutional court decision put pressure on Merkel to come up with an alternative says @jana_puglierin

Meanwhile chances of resistance to Franco-German proposal from within CDU were considerably reduced by delegates not being able to meet in person.
Merkel-Macron plan has three important features says @lugaricano - “the size, the grants and the European Union as the borrower.
"[There is] the risk as it goes through all the negotiations, that this clear recognisable plan becomes this messy Christmas tree construction.”
And what about the frugals? Characteristically blunt response from @Grybauskaite_LT

“Germany agreed to pay a large amount of money to save the European economy. That’s as simple as it is … How can you block it?”
For @alexstubb a compromise will be found, along lines of classic EU story of “chaos, crisis and suboptimal solutions". No one will be 100% satisfied.

“This will be a good solution but of course it will be suboptimal because by definition that is what European decisions are.”
