Millennials will take power from Boomers, and with that power we can craft our systems to better match our 21st century virtues.
My fear is when given this power we won’t know how to civilly synthesize or prioritize our varying virtues, which could paralyze the “broad social progress” Millennials feel united in desiring.
We learn by example, and our recent examples of macro-governance and compromise have been dismal + the Web-dialectic has tainted civility (irreparably?) — thoughts on what we do from here?

The cost to produce and distribute Information has collapsed thanks to Information Technology (IT).

With that collapse in cost, we've seen an inversion in how Power uses Information to its advantage.
2/ We went from the Church, which capitalized on *high-cost* of information (pre-printing press, all books had to be handwritten), by *limiting* information that would compete with the Church’s aims.
3/ To current Nation-States, which exploit the extremely *low-cost* of information to *amplify* the ideas they want people to think are true.

2/ As with any community, there are varying viewpoints re: $DCR's best uses and the way to spend the network's treasury towards those desired ends.
3/ The "conservatives" are largely in control and rolling out a plan for $DCR to progress from SoV to MoE and then to UoA.

The "progressives" want more experimentation with the beautiful Decred machinery they've fallen in love with.

There's been good conversation recently about the amount people *actually pay* to use blockchains, stripping out the inflation subsidy.

At @placeholdervc's annual meeting a few months back, we shared this graph to show #Ethereum's lead versus other smart contract platforms:
2/ Yes the data can be updated (I encourage someone to do it, @alexhevans is busy with other things 🙂), and notable smart contract chains like EOS are missing because their fee model is different (really a cost of capital fee). But the point stands...
3/ #Ethereum is orders of magnitude ahead of any of its competitors in terms of people willing to pay for its utility.
