Correction: the 70K number for excess mortality is correct, as calculated by @FT. But that can't simply be added. The confirmed fatalities stands at ~102,000 (the excess + actual confirmed estimated ~ 130,000 by others, but not 170,000). Sorry for the confusion on my part.
