2/ Yesterday a @TitusvillePD lieutenant acknowledged spectators were not practicing social distancing. The agency indicated it was considering a proposal to keep pedestrians off the bridge this weekend. #News6
3/ Today @TitusvillePD announced the bridge would be closed to vehicles one hour after launch to “allow pedestrians to cross safely”. There was no mention of closing the bridge to spectators. #news6
4/ I asked a @TitusvillePD spokesperson to explain the rationale for keeping the bridge open to spectators in light of the agency’s observation that people are not practicing social distancing. I have received no response to my question. #news6
5/ I sent two emails and left a voicemail for Titusville City Manager Scott Larse with the same question. I have received no response. #News6
6/ I sent two emails to Titusville Mayor Walt Johnson and each of the other city council members, asking for their thoughts on the bridge opening to spectators. I also left a phone message for Johnson at Titusville City Hall. I have received no responses. #News6
7/ Speaking of that building, only 5 citizens are allowed inside Titusville City Hall at any given time. They must wear a mask, sanitize their hands and keep 6 feet apart. #news6
8/ In the lobby of @TitusvillePD, stickers on the floor instruct visitors to keep visitors 6 feet apart. #news6
9/ Those same precautions were not being taken to protect spectators at the A. Max Brewer Bridge on Wednesday. There is no indication such precautions will be in place there for this weekend’s #SpaceX launch attempt. #news6 @Florida_Today
