It's really not helpful to pretend all police killings are the same. The man in this case just got out of prison, posted a message the same day about his plan to killing and then get killed to avoid going back to prison, & had a gun which he allegedly threatened police with.
Wait... how does NBC News not even bother to mention that he allegedly killed his 21-year-old black neighbor 15 minutes earlier???

Insane. The guy posted a FB video describing how he was going to kill people and then commit suicide by cop to ensure he doesn't go back to prison, but NBC leaves out the part about him allegedly murdering his neighbor and compares it to George Floyd?

Same story everywhere. It's overwhelmingly white kids between 20-30 who are all extremely privileged to the point where they can adopt anarchist ideologies and destroy property of others knowing they won't have to be the ones who live with the consequences.
This is who celebrities and political activists on the left are raising bail money for....

Hi Chrissy, will you be giving anything to the people whose lives were destroyed by those you plan to help bail out?
The thing that really pisses me off about this is that they are eliminating a major deterrent to this indefensible behavior. They are making it easier for criminals to destroy those lives without consequences.
Right. It's easy to view the destruction and violence as not a big deal and the rioting as excusable when it's not your neighborhoods being destroyed, your workplace decimated, your housing set on fire etc.

I understand the protests, but sincerely hope they don't lead to a huge spike in COVID-19 cases. Although, if infections do somehow stay down with so many people gathering over small areas, may inform us on just how much we can do moving forward.
I mean just look at this. Some states are barely letting people leave the house still or have gatherings above single digits, but these protestors are shoulder to shoulder stuffed in a small area.

I really do feel like I'm living in an alternate reality. A few weeks ago we had non-stop articles insisting it's irresponsible to consider loosening restrictions for people to do basic things, but there is complete silence about the danger from protests/riots = more cases.
