The @AfDB_Group would lose its strength and soul if the #US prevails over it's tricked assault against a decent and industrious man, @akin_adesina. Therefore, I align my support with most African Leaders to resist all forms of non-African political interference in our continent.
I am for our continental integrity and my support is for the re-election of Dr. Akinwumi Adeshina, who has been previously earmarked as the sole candidate as President of the Bank for the next five years.

The allegations and resistance of the US, especially Trump, is unjust.
The ethics committee and the board of directors of the Bank have insisted that the allegations against Adeshina are unsubstantiated and this only coincides with the political will of the US to seize control of the development of Africa, amidst China's interests across the region.
There is a larger plan to hijack the management of the bank. Nigeria, the highest contributor to the bank with over 9% stake has never attempted to hijack the leadership of the bank despite "Nigeria Trust Fund) being a solid tripod pillar of the group. And we should not tolerate
A non-African member with an ineffectual stake of condemning us to multilateral colonialism.

The AfDB is our continental development response and its mandates and principles should never be sacrificed on the alter of solitary US criticisms.
There is no denial of Africa's push for FDI since the 1980s, and AfDB have often responded with timely, not hasty development needs of African States, being the biggest multilateral lender of the continent.

Attacks against its highly respected leadership is an attack on Africa.
The AfDB has been ranked as one of the most transparent multilateral financial institutions in the world and this is in fact due to the steady and solid leadership principles of Adeshina, who has earned himself several international awards for his pan-Africanism and dutifulness.
During the cold war (1945-1991), Africa was an epicentre for neocolonial battle for ideological domination. It was between the US and the Soviets. Today, another economic cold war has resurfaced between the US and China, and Africa must not become a centre for political tussle.
Independent non-African Investigations into the affairs of the AfDB undermines the principles, statutes, and independence of the bank.
