Summary of 2020 (thus far):
Donald Trump tried to intimidate a global pandemic like he bullied Ukraine but it didn't work because the coronavirus isn't as craven as the Republican Party so Trump turned public health into a fake culture war and over 100,000 people died but...
then a real culture war broke out because cops kept beating up black people who were angry about being murdered even though they didn't beat up white people who were angry because they needed a haircut and now everything is one fire and...
we still don't have enough masks or tests or jobs or schools but a majority of white people are still planning on voting for Trump because he doesn't make them feel bad about having a "white's only" island on Animal Crossing.

Vince Vaughn is the owner of a local Auto Zone which gets torched. He sets out to get revenge on the looters who ruined his store. Along the way, he meets an inner city teacher, Scarlett Johansson...
ScarJo helps black youth redirect their anger into arts and crafts. Turns out one of her students, Jaden Smith, was involved in the torching of Vaughn's store, but he feels super bad about it. Vaughn learns that some looters are actually good people too...
Eventually they catch up with the head, unrepentant looter, Lil Nas X. But the police are there too. The police are about to shoot Lil Nas. Nas screams "KILL ME WHITEY! GO AHEAD AND KILL ME!" but Vaughn says "NO. STOP. There's got to be a better way." Lil Nas goes to jail.

Last thought for the night:

Every time one of these shootings happens, I get a note or a text from a white person I haven’t heard from in a while. It’s always: “I used to think that you were really EXTREME but now I see that you were right about [white people] all along.”
...
To which I always want to say: “YEAH, I FUCKING KNOW! Thank you for figuring out your ‘black friend’ hasn’t had some kind of crazy MELANIN POISONING all these years.”
This week happens because white people DO NOT LISTEN when blacks people calmly, professionally, and charitably explain how DESPERATE black people are for relief from white violence. How we’d do almost anything to be FREE of it.
