Thread: Dale, your son was shot in the eye by Denver police. As it turns out, the Denver Broncos donated $200,000 to a group that supplied them with protective riot gear.
Almost 2 years ago, Von Miller and John Elway’s Denver Broncos, donated $200,000 to a group that supplies tactical vests and military grade helmets to law enforcement agencies, including the Denver police. denverbroncos.com/news/von-mille…
Denver Police thanked the Denver Broncos-backed Shield 616 for the protective gear.
Denver Police have been wearing the gear as they have been actively harassing protesters, shooting rubber bullets at them, and attacking an elderly man in a wheelchair crossing the street.
The founder of Shield 616, Jake Skifstad, told a church that events at Ferguson “unleashed hostility directed at law enforcement and it’s still continuing to this day.”
The founder, Jake Skifstaf, regularly Tweets common police non-accountability phrases and retweeted praise of Donald Trump.
The Denver Broncos boasted about the $200,000 donation for protective gear which is now being worn in actions against anti-police brutality protesters. Pro-police publications covered the donation positively.
Chris Brown, who works at Shield 616, was disappointed NFL players were kneeling and wanted to just watch them play. He said he was happy the Broncos would be standing behind them now and not kneeling.
At the time, the Denver Broncos stated the donation of protective police gear, which is now being used in the #GeorgeFloyd protests, were going to “improve law enforcement relations.”
The Broncos organization hosted law enforcement at practices and gifted them with protective gear which basically upgrades a regular cop with SWAT gear.
Tons of thin blue line American flags, a universal sign of police solidarity for non-accountability.
John Elway, President of the Denver Broncos, posed with thin blue line flags, law enforcement, and Shield 616 representatives.
Von Miller, who kneeled during the anthem alongside Brandon Marshall in 2017, was now hugging sheriffs in Texas and supplying cops with protective gear.
Afterwards it was reported that “Von Miller loses an endorsement deal after kneeling for anthem” sports.yahoo.com/von-miller-los…
John Elway publically took a stand against kneeling and later offered a pathetic, debunked excuse for not signing Colin Kaepernick when the Broncos’ QB needs were dire. bleacherreport.com/articles/27353…
This event with Shield 616 communicated to the public that the Denver Broncos were back in the good graces of law enforcement and all the kneeling had stopped.
The Shield616 twitter account liked a tweet when Prime Time Sports decided to boycott Nike to protest their ad featuring Colin Kaepernick.
Shield 616 also like a tweet from Melania Trump and a tweets saying women don’t have to make their gender a “a thing.”
Shield616 holds events at churches, and has churches raise money for protective police gear used in SWAT and riot situations. Children are encouraged to try on the gear.
Even though Shield616 employees view Ferguson protests and NFL kneelers in a negative light, they have no problem posting an MLK quote.
With many calling for #DefundThePolice, let it be known that the Denver Broncos funded the Denver Police when they teargassed a car with a pregnant women inside, and shoot more teargas when her partner complained.
Let it be known the #Denver Broncos funded the police who shot paintballs and tear gas at protesters shouting “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” #GeorgeFloyd
Today, the Broncos tweeted “there is no place for racism of discrimination of any kind” yet they banned Colin Kaepernick and funded the police who brutalize Black folks all across the country.
Thread: MLK opposed the filibuster being used to block civil rights.
Dr. King said the March on Washington, where he delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, would be a direct response to the filibuster.

Martin Luther King, Jr. believed a filibuster of civil rights legislation would be a “blatant abuse of the legislative and democratic process.”

MLK called a filibuster of civil rights legislation a “tragedy” used by “misguided Senators” who “do not represent the majority of the American people.”
1/ Dave Portnoy once said he was going to say racist things, and then Portnoy and his Barstool staff proceeded to say racist things about Colin Kaepernick.
No credible company or sports league should be partnering with Barstool.
2/ Dave Portnoy and Barstool said Colin Kaepernick had “terrorist skin,” “looks like a terrorist,” “isn’t really that Black” and his biracial and adopted situation “was all jacked up.”
🚨 Conservatives has been blaming New York fire deaths on the vaccine mandate, but it turns out FDNY has been organizing to fake injuries and sick outs to protest the mandate according to anti-vax protester Michael Bruno who works with the husband of a New York firefighter.
Just before this, another anti-vaxxer was discussing how “two people died in the Bronx because of the lack of firemen.”
Also, when she shared how SDNY wasn’t picking up trash, Michael Bruno celebrated with a fist pump.
These anti-vaxxers are supposedly pro health.
One NYC anti-vaxxer said she knows someone on “NYPD Chat” who said “a lot of NYPD called in sick” to protest the vaccine mandates.
