As an institution whose mission is to enable a brighter future rich in nature and culture, we cannot remain silent about the killing of George Floyd and the numerous historical and ongoing injustices facing the Black community. (1/4) 
Our museum, like so many others, has a history rooted in colonialism and racism. We’re working hard to acknowledge and change that—primarily by partnering with and engaging communities of color when it comes to our exhibitions, research, and programmatic work. (2/4)
But we can do better. We must do better. We stand in solidarity with African Americans and all who are peacefully protesting. (3/4)
