Most of the big men in our society have the smallest of minds and are the poorest of souls. Yesterday evening, a team of armed men from @PoliceNG IRT stormed Aguda surulere without reporting at @PoliceNGLagos command to execute an extraction based on an Armed robbery petition.
The journeyed all the way from Abuja, stormed the residence of a known credible web designer and linear editor traumatizing there family and carting away all his computers and phone while abducting him as ordered to Abuja. When @SIAF_NG was contacted by the traumatized wife...
...we made further enquiries only to realize that a certain Chief Akinbami, Vice Chairman of @FAAN_Official wrote a petition against this young man at IRT claiming he is an Armed Robber just because of a N1M job that went south due to his non-compliance & response.
At least this was what the team said when they were asked their purpose for engagement. But thankfully, we engaged the state command via @ElkanaBala and the mixup is being sorted. The IRT are on the track of Armed robbers & also wanted to clear the petition on the web designer.
The Police PRO Lagos has weighed in and it has been agreed that they grant the web designer bail to sort out the misunderstanding on the contract dispute. We also cintatacted the FHQ on this shameful engagement and abuse of the IRT in order to forstall a reoccurrence.
I see no reason why alleged Big Men in society will continue to denigrate the police structures and reduce tactical police units to bounty hunters and human rights abusers. What if the team had engaged this young man like they would an armed robber?
The only promise we made to the family is that Mr Gabriel Olayemi will not be whisked out of Lagos under this illegal conspiracy. No civilization operates like this and the police institution will not be allowed to decay further than it is. It will take our collective efforts.
The combination of efforts of the State Command, FHQ Abuja and the @rrslagos767 with @SIAF_NG will continue to ensure that citizens are not oppressed unduly on their own fatherland by degenerates seeking to prove they are above the law. Civil matters are what they are.
The Chief insists on holding the young man hostage at Alausa @PoliceNG station where swears by the gods that he will use the instrument of state to re-arrest him even if he gets released. He demands a postdated Cheque even under Covid uncertainties just to oppress him in future.
The Chief has used the guns of the state to force Mr Gabriel to promise to pay him on Monday via a statement under duress in exchange for his constitutional guarantees freedom. We all know this document is null and void. This is how police lose public trust. The FHQ is on this!
The gentleman has been released but the Chief made him write a post dated cheque under duress as a leeway to implicate him again next week. We have advised that he writes to his Bank/account officer & report to the police what transpired. @AcpIshaku
By the Grace of God, whoever presents that Cheque will be arrested on the spot. Civil disputes are resolved via arbitration process or the courts not with Guns and threats because we can buy tactical units. The little-men in society acting like BigMen should take note.
For those seeking to find fault instead of taking lessons from their shameful display of impunity, it doesn’t matter if the money is N1Million or N5Million. You signed a contract with an MoU for the contractual agreement. Take the matter to court & stop abusing the @PoliceNG
