My family experienced unimaginable horrors in the Lebanese civil war. We fled our homeland. Our home was stolen by Noble refugees. Yet, I've never thought of asking Muslims or Palestinians to kneel before us to atone for their sins. Reason: I don't believe in collective guilt.
Muslims also SAVED us by protecting us during our escape from Lebanon. Palestinian militia SAVED us by protecting us during our escape from Lebanon. So, some Muslims were to blame for our reality but other Muslims were the reason that I can type these words today. So to all of
my black brothers and sisters who are succumbing to the cancerous mindset of collective guilt, you are better than this. Treat each individual as a sum of his/her qualities and faults. Do not ascribe evil to a whole race of people because then you are no different from the
a-holes who are racist against you. The "kneeling" ritual is a grotesque affront to individual dignity. It soils our common humanity. It ascribes guilt to millions of people by virtue of their skin hue. Where have we seen that before? Rise above the vagaries of immutable
characteristics and judge people based on their individual personhood. Defend individual dignity. It is the only way to protect against the vagaries of tribalism. Peace to all. [Transcript of THE SAAD TRUTH_1070]
