1/ Feels like the whole Mission (and more) is headed over. All different races, ages. Most wearing masks.
2/ Owner of Praire and friends handing out free water, masks, hand sanitizer and...bananas 
3/ service been down for an hour. Notable at rally were the demands for specific local politicians to give any money they’ve taken from cop unions and lobbyists and give to bail and aid societies. @HillaryRonen and @Scott_Wiener among those called out
Also a gazillion mutual aid groups handing out water and masks. These two women just decided to come out and do same
5/ I have been to and covered a lot of protests and never seen one as organized (though again a lot of individual efforts) as this one

7/ in part as a result of those efforts mask wearing is close to 100%. Which is good because it is a huge and tightly packed crowd
8/ I have seen all but the very old and the very very young but if I had to guess at average age maybe 25?
9/March no longer headed to Mission police station, now headed to the jail at 850 Bryant. Which is a relief to many in the Mission no doubt but also going to make it hard for people to get there and home before 8 pm curfew (if they want to)
10/ also seen a lot of medical workers showing up in scrubs. Briefly chatted with a group from UCSF. Half Black, half Asian. Lot of “if you arrest him you gotta arrest me too” joking between them.
11/ also at the rally a lot of calling out tech companies for “black box Instagram bullshit” and requests that tech workers demand their companies diversify and start programs in low-income neighborhoods
12/ maybe part of the March is going to the jail downtown but a good number have set up shop to yell at cops at Mission stair ion

21/ in conclusion, very large—certainly thousands—crowd. Very young, very diverse. Saw some tagging but nothing else. The police guarded the station but did not engage with the crowd, which is thinning and dispersing near station; might be huge at jail idk.
24/ (my ordering sucks): it was a pretty radical but not violent crowd. Organizers put “white anarchists” on notice that their shit would not be tolerated and reminded crowd that this neighborhood and many businesses are minority owned.
25/ speeches and signs got into some pretty specific policy demands: defunding, ending qualified immunity, restorive justice, and for politicians to stop taking cop PAC money—which I think is going to be a huge issue this election.
