What follows is an attempt at bringing key works, commentaries, resources together in one place with a focus on Wales and its troubling past in regards to racism. I also wanted to share links to community groups and organisations who'd benefit from our support. #BlackLivesMatter
Here's @efalois’ list of Welsh people, events which we should familiarise ourselves with in relation to black history & racism in Wales.

Massive thanks to @efalois for drawing my attention to all these x
Next, @punkistani93 shared this with me, covering 1919 Welsh race riots and wider topic of multiculturalism in Wales. The latter is something we white Welsh often talk proudly about but understand very little.

A comprehensive reading/viewing list.
She also talks here about live tweeting the race riots:

A book that's come up/been recommended time and again is Slave Wales by Chris Evans. I ordered it 2 days ago when it was available but now has this note next to it which I'm hoping means it's sold out because of unprecedented demand. I'm happy to wait if that's the case.
Tiger Bay, usually associated with Shirley Bassey, is an area we've heard about but how much do we know about its history, including modern day? I'm going to guess barely anything. Someone shared @GavinPorter_'s documentary with me and it's worth a watch.

Thanks to @DanielGwydion for drawing my attention to the fact that...

James Baldwin discusses Wales in his novel ‘Tell Me How Long this Train’s Been Gone’.

I have ordered it.
This came form @HuwL1oyd:

1. A Tolerant Nation? Revisiting Ethnic Diversity in a Devolved Wales uwp.co.uk/book/a-toleran…

2. Sugar and Slate, Charlotte Williams (mentioned by others also, have ordered a copy) gwales.com/goto/biblio/en…

3. The Tiger Bay Story abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDe…
Read this: "Can we live together? Wales & the multicultural question" bit.ly/3cClex6

This line really stood out:
"It is a certain but a largely unacknowledged fact that the first major race riot in Britain occured in Wales and the most recent..."

Darllewnch hon, mae yna bwyntiau pwysig ynddi, ond cofiwch fod Seimon Brooks (sy'n cael ei ddyfynu) wedi dweud yn ddiweddar mai hiliaeth yw "ymysodiadau amgylcheddwyr ar gymunedau amaethyddol brodorol". Sy'n nonsens llwyr.
