Today is the jayanthi of Pujyashri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Mahaswamigal🙏(1894-1994), the 68th Shankaracharya of Kanchi. Jagadguru became matadhipathi at a young age of 13 in 1907. He set out from Kumbhakonam in 1919 on a 'Vijaya Yatra.' (1)
It lasted 20 long years covering most of South India & many sacred cities in North. During this, Paramacharya began his journey in a palanquin but soon gave it up & covered 5,000 km from Rameswaram to Kasi on foot in a journey lasting for 21 years. (2)
During Vijaya yatra he undertook at the age of 84, Paramacharya toured Bharatavarsha on foot covering 25 km a day, sleeping on bare ground with just sky as the roof. It includes crossing the 3 km long Pamban rail bridge which connects Rameswaram to mainland. (3)
It shows his austerity & enormous sacrifices he made to uphold Dharma. Even Dalai lama called him as 'the only monk of the century.' Incredibly for the 1st time, on day of leaving his body in 1994, Paramacharya asked for a picture of his mother. Jagadguru knows it beforehand? (4)

THREAD on Sri Ahilya bai Holkar🙏:
She had offered to do sati on the death of her husband but had been persuaded from the extreme sacrifice by her grief stricken father-in-law. She combined talent, virtue & energy which made her a blessing to the country over which she ruled. (1)
Queen Ahilya bai took upon herself the direct management of affairs & sat everyday for a considerable time in open durbar, transacting business. When appeals were made to her decision, she heard every complaint in person with great patience. (2)
Her capital, Indore, under her fostering care, from a village, it developed into a prosperous city and wealthy mart for malwa products. The fond object of her life was to promote the prosperity of all around her. She rejoiced when she saw farmers etc rise to affluence. (3)
