The danger of #AbolishThePolice is that politicians & civic leaders won’t take the time to understand the demands. They will “defund” the police w/o addressing ANY of the social issues needed, & then throw up their hands & say, “Happy now?” when things don’t get better.
This is already happening. People gloating over violent crimes happening in urban neighborhoods and saying smugly, “I thought you said we didn’t need police.”
No, we don’t need police in these neighborhoods. But we DO need A LOT of other things! And when those needs are met, the police will be redundant.
