These ads are being run by two major Facebook pages with over 1 million followers each.

Collectively, the two t-shirt companies have spend millions on Facebook ads.

I'm going to ask Facebook if these ads violate their policies.

We'll see what they say.

But they've shown an inability to identify these ads themselves.

This is the third set of ads in the last few days that I've identified that explicitly advocate deadly violence against protesters.

Facebook made $4.9 billion in the first three months of 2020.

Something is off.

I should have mentioned that these ads are also on instagram.

I normally will ask Facebook, give them a day or so to respond, and then write up what happened in my newsletter.

But I'm working on another story right now.

I'm not a Facebook content moderator and can't devote every edition of my newsletter to violent Facebook ads.

UPDATE: These ads encouraging violence against protestors have now been removed

Before Facebook acted, the ads were shown to ~200K people

I've turned into an unpaid content moderator for a company that made 4.9 billion in the first three months of this year

I could devote every issue of my newsletter to Facebook failing to enforce its own rules.
