W53 went on to become NF5
NF6 was shunting the wharf at Darwin when enemy bombed Darwin Feb 1942. NF6 was blown off the wharf due to the enemy action and lost.

NF5 (W53) was withdrawn in 1945 and was spared the scrapper. On display at Darwin various locations.

Note NF5 was fitted with NF2 plates in 1957.
This loco & carriage was also in the film ' We of the Never Never ' 1981. Moved to Fannie Bay Jail Museum, Darwin.
NF5 was later moved to the Pine Creek railway station area and was restored to operation in late 2001.

NF 5 displayed and stored operational within a shelter at Pine Creek on 17 August 2003.
