Remember that while, at your age, Covid-19 is unlikely to do you much home, if you take it home. It could kill your parents or grandparents. Don't do that.

I won't tell you not to take any risks if you go out demonstrating. But, if you do decide to take a risk, think about it first.

It's harder to change the world if you're seriously hurt.

If you do get seriously hurt, it won't be just you that suffers. Your family and friends will suffer too.

So it had better be worth it.

If a police baton or baton round splits your skull or breaks your ribs, you likely won't become a poster child for the battle against police brutality: more likely…

…more likely (they've had a lot of practice at this) you'll just be another statistic - "not watching where they were going; tripped and fell against the kerb."

And, it should go without saying, don't burn your own house down. Don't be violent. Don't damage property. It gives all the protesters a bad name, and undermines the message.

Please do protest!

There are a lot of things wrong with the world right now! We're relying on young people to put them right!

Just make sure you make your protests count, and don't take risks that aren't definitely worth it.
