This is a very weird article, that looks like narrative engineering.
Taking the believe that Covid19 might have been released from a Chinese lab (possible) & linking it to US "gain-of-function" research using Swampy former MI6 leader Sir Richard Dearlove.

I've touched on these issues before, the lab at Wuhan was doing "gain-of-function" work on bat corona viruses in collaboration with US researchers. Because Obama banned the research & it shifted to China.
But why is Dearlove promoting this?

Is this just an effort to pimp a vaccine for CV?

Or is this an effort to create a narrative that the US was involved in the development of the virus?

It worries me that Dearlove is now endorsing this theory in articles that are suggesting US involvement.
Are they trying to blame the US for this? If so, who are they trying to blame? Obama for sending the research to China or Trump for allowing funding to resume?

Is this an effort to influence the election?
Is this an effort to pressure the Obama camp to clamp down on things before the UK has to spread the rumor it was Obama's ban that caused this.
Or is this a shot toward Trump?

It's odd, especially hours after the Prince Andrew story.

You don't think Dearlove would threaten to blame the US for supporting research on coronavirus in China?
Just as stories broke that the DOJ wants to question Prince Andrew about Epstein?
