My story about active voter suppression in @SmyrnaNews. I’m line at 640 to vote and they are saying the machines weren’t delivered last night and came this morning so they aren’t synced up(?) So doing paper ballots it’s going to take longer than usual.

I was like number 5 in line. They check all of our IDs, fill out a form for a paper ballot. Then we get a paper ballot fill it out and are told to seal it in two envelopes. Nobody wants to lick the enveloped because of Covid so they had some grease cashiers use for money. 2/? 
Didn’t work at all nobody’s ballot envelopes would seal. I took a little longer on my ballot so about 10 people in front of me turned in their ballots and informed the poll worker the envelope wouldn’t seal. 3/?
She said “Don’t worry about it I’m sure your vote will still be counted”. Suspect right? So I wasn’t comfortable with that and noticed a water fountain not too far away so I just got some water from the fountain and sealed mine correctly. 4/?
The voters behind me started to follow suit. After I turn in my ballot she hands me a green form titled “Notice to Provisional Voters” and checks the box for “PI Voter” which says its for someone who couldn’t provide ID. 5/?
I told her I just showed my ID. All of us had, and everyone was getting this paper. She goes on to tell us that this is out of her hands and we have to complete the steps on the form to have our votes counted. 6/?
The form instructs us that we have to drive to Marietta to show a copy of our ID in person or fax a copy to this number to have our votes counted. This is some 1960’s level #VoterSuppression. People were absolutely furious! 7/?
Not only did we have to wait over an hour to vote, we don’t even know if our votes will count! We have the worst voting system and this is absolutely NOT a democracy. I’m still pissed sitting in my car writing this watching people walk out with Green form after Green form. 8/?
I don’t know if anyone will read this or if I’m screaming into a void but this is not how a voting system should look. If we let this continue into November, Republicans will win off some technicalities like unsealed Envelopes or Voter ID shenanigans 9/9
Leaving at 810 and still folks walking out with Green forms. @GeorgiaDemocrat you have to do something about this! Line was majority black and we are being cheated AGAIN!
