No surprise that the cops were caught flat-footed when domestic terrorists showed up in Albuquerque, again. On a good day, Geier is reactionary. But, of course, that is exactly why Mayor Keller likes him. Standing up to corruption in politics is not his strong suit.
Rio Rancho went through a horrible event of corruption with Geier's hand on the rudder. The stood by and watched, including the good people at the Journal. Just watched. It was a single staffed, self published old school journalist who broke the story.
The electorate here got it right, but we're it not for the work of Eric Maddy, it could have been a swing and a miss. Sadly, Albuquerque will have to go through what Rio Rancho went through without those history lessons. But one police chief is just like another, right?
Personnel is policy. Keller's effort to walk a thin line is an error. The line that must be walked is blue, and the Mayor is on the wrong side. Oddly, Geier doesn't understand that there is a line.
