Regardless of @INCIndia or @BJP4India govt the norm has been to communicate with the opposition on matters of national security. Why has this democratic custom been broken? The govt has our unequivocal support, but why should details be concealed from opposition? 2/8
After @DefenceMinIndia @rajnathsingh ji says अच्छी खासी संख्या में (in good numbers) Chinese troops have entered India complete opacity creates confusion and fear. His statement about difference in perception about LAC further adds to the confusion. 3/8
'Sources' on TV channels today have been quoted about tensions de-escalating on the border. Relieved to hear that. But is Indian opposition now expected to rely on sourced based media reports? If sources can brief media, why can @narendramodi govt not brief opposition? 4/8
If tensions are de-escalating, how much did they escalate? How far did the Chinese come in? Is any Indian territory under their control? Have they built any fortifications? Why did they come into Galvan Valley a place of no dispute so far? Are they pulling back from there? 5/8
Has the government ensured China agrees to a full pullout and goes back to status quo as on 1.4.2020 as urged by several men who have served the armed forces valiantly? Or are all those decorated generals anti-national as well? 6/8
We have no issues with PM Modi and Xi Jin Ping's bonhomie. But friends don't deceive, not after being hosted twice for meetings without agenda. It's ok to be on the swing with Ping, but foreign policy can't be held hostage to high octane TV drama. #China 7/8
