A union of Latinx and Haitian poultry workers is fighting coronavirus...

Their plant's law firm won a vote next week to decertify the union.

The firm is the #1 donor to Sen. @ChrisCoons.

& he's staying out of it.

Asked about the donations, and what he's done for the union, Coons' campaign provided the following statement:
According to @OpenSecretsdc, the law firm working to decertify the union is Coons' top donor.

The firm has given Coons well over $100,000 more than any other company has over the course of his Senate campaigns.
Coons & his PAC also get money from:

The poultry company
The National Chicken Council
& the National Chicken Council's lobbying firm (a lawyer from which is now Coons' chief counsel).

And we've previously reported on Coons' other ties to the company:

In a previous report, @JuddLegum identified at least 134 reported cases of coronavirus at the firm, Mountaire Farms, in Delaware and NC.

Mountaire says it instituted precautions. The union says problems remain--and that sick workers should get full pay.

It's not the first time Coons has been accused of sitting out a fight pitting Delaware residents against Mountaire.

The League of Women Voters asked members to seek his help on Mountaire's environmental issues.
As @MaddyinMilford reported, Coons and other DE Dems responded very differently to nitrates in a public water supply...

...than they did to nitrates affecting affecting the water supply for residents near a Mountaire plant.
In addition to fighting what it claims is a rigged election for its survival on June 17... and for COVID working conditions and pay...

...the union just lost an OSHA complaint on the basis that Mountaire said everything is cool.
I discussed and took questions about this story on today's edition of TYTI Daily:

One attorney told me the firm's support for Coons has nothing to do with labor...

...it's because Coons is protecting Delaware's edge as a venue for corporate bankruptcies -- which make up the lion's share of the firm's practice.
I got a statement from @KerriHarrisDE (progressive Senate primary candidate in 2018) about Democrats generally... and @JessforDelaware, Coon's current primary rival, went after Coons directly, saying she supports Local 27.
