Thread ! /1
Q: Whether Apr/May 2020 college exams will be cancelled?

A: Yes, most likely! Given this unprecedented scenario, exams are most likely to be cancelled for intermediate year students. But till the official announcement, don`t stop preparing, keep preparing ! /2
Q: When can we expect official announcement ?

A: There might be another meeting with higher education minister / officials, only then official announcement will be made. Most probably official announcement can be expected on or before 17th June! /3
Q: Whether Final year exams will be cancelled ?

A: NO! As of now the possibility of cancelling final year exams is less. You might be given a chance to choose between online or offline exam. Online exam will be MCQ pattern. This is also subject to official confirmation. /4
Q: I am a Arts / Science stream student whether my exams will be cancelled ?

A: Exams for all intermediate students likely to be cancelled :
UG- Arts & Science: 1 & 2 year, Engineering : 1, 2&3 year

PG- Arts & Science 1 year, Engineering : 1 year

PG others (MCA) - 1& 2 year /5
Q: I am a 3rd year Engg student, I have arrear in 1 & 2nd year, whether my arrear exams will also be cancelled?

A: NO!! Only the current semester exams will be cancelled. Your previous arrear will remain as such &you will be asked to appear for arrear exam at a later period./6
Q: I am a 2nd year Arts / Science student, I have arrear in first year, whether my arrear exam will also be cancelled?

A: NO!Only current semester exams will be cancelled. Your previous arrear will remain as such &you will be asked to appear for arrear exam at a later period./7
Q: How will I be graded if there are no exams ?

A: As per UGC guideline, 50% of your internal exams marks & 50% of the previous semester performance will be taken in to consideration to grade your results of this semester! /8
Q: My college conducted only two internal exams before lockdown, how will my internal be calculated ?

A: The average of the two internals will be taken. For example CA1 you have 80 marks out of 100 & in CA2 you have 78 marks out of 100. Totally 158/200 * 50 = 39.5!
contd..... /9
/10 So from internals (out of 50) you have secured 39.5,For another 50 marks your previous semester GPA will be considered. In the previous semester if you have 73% which will be converted to 73/100 * 50 = 36.5. Your total marks for all subjects would be 39.5+ 36.5 =76 out of 100
Now all your subjects will be given 76 marks and corresponding grades will be awarded. All your current semester subjects will be awarded corresponding grades based on the legends (O, A, A+, B) the university practices! /11
Q: In the previous semester I have two arrear papers, whether the arrear papers will be included in calculating my previous sem performance?

A: NO! Only the papers you successfully passed will be considered to calculate your previous year performance! /12
/13 Q: I am studying 4th sem, I have arrear in two subjects in 3rd semsters, how will my previous sem performance be calculated ?

A: You have passed in 4 subjects, then your 3rd sem GPA will be :
Total marks obtained by you in the 4 subjects/ 400
Subjects you failed will be excluded from calculating your GPA. Only subjects you passed in the previous semester will be taken in to consideration! / 14
Q: After applying the UGC guideline I think my percentage for this semester, calculated using this method is less, what should I do ?

A: If you think, you need to improve your marks or % of this semester, then you will be given a chance to write exam at a later period. /15
Q: I think my marks obtained using this method is not enough, what can I do ?

A: You will be given a chance to take the exams at a later period. You can prepare well and boost your marks after the exams! /16
Q: I have failed in all the subjects in the previous semester, then how would my marks for this semester be calculated ?

A: In that case, what ever the mark you got in your internal is final mark out of 100. If you 43 out of 50 is internal, that will be your mark for 100. /17
Eg: Internal mark out of 50 = 43
Previous year semester performance out of 50= 0 (In case some one has backlogs in all the paper in previous semester)

Your marks for this semester (out of 100) = 43 + 0 = 43 ! /18
Q: I am a passed out student I have arrear in even semester (2 or 4 or 6 th sem) will my arrear exams will also be cancelled ?

A: NO! You will have to appear for the arrear exams, at later period when the university asks you to appear ! /19
