Hon`ble Justice Mr.Sathyanarayana in the hearing of case against #arrear exam, observed that court can only comply with the norms of statutory body like #UGC & #AICTE. The stand of #AICTE is clear that they are not ready to accept the decision of Taminadu government. /1

#UGC will also not accept the decision to cancel the exam. At this pace we can expect the verdict from High court either in the the first or second week of December. That is a very long period of time. By that time even the next semester exams would end. /2

Contempt proceedings against Actor & altruist Mr. @Suriya_offl is baseless. In the first place Madras High Court or any other High courts have no grounds to prosecute him, as his comments does not come under their jurisdiction. #TNStandWithSuriya /1 To protect the dignity of the courts & distinguish the smooth administration of justice, only superior courts have the power to punish a person in contempt case. Advocate Mr. Ramkumar has filed a case in Madras High court, with prayer to quash the Tamilnadu G.O, which cancelled the arrear exams of students - who have paid exam fees. /1 In his plea he claims that TN govt has violated the guidelines of #UGC & #AICTE and also opposes TN govt`s decision on the grounds that it would deteriorate the standard of higher education in the state . The case is not listed for hearing on Monday. /2

Before the last hearing on case against UGC in Supreme Court, I elucidated that court would scrutiny the legality of the UGC guidelines, with respect to disaster / epidemic act of the States. Hon`ble judges made the same observation in the last hearing. #StudentsLivesMatters /1

Court didn`t engage the petitions that were filed based on mercy. Courts can only interfere if there is a violation of law. The petition of Maha & Delhi govt is the only valid & pivotal petition. Tamilnadu govt should have impleaded in the case too. #StudentsInSCForJustice /2

Case against #UGC guidelines to resume hearing tomorrow in the Supreme Court. Usually courts don`t interfere in the policy decision of the govt. UGC is a statutory body. In the affidavit filed by UGC, it has raised the same concern. /1
