Here's some background on the phrases Steven Carillo scrawled in blood on the hood of a car:

"Boog" is short for Boogaloo, an extremist movement started on 4chan that wants to ignite a second American Civil War.

Carillo, who allegedly killed a cop in the ambush, scrawled "I became unreasonable."

This phrase was originally written by a Marvin Heemeyer, who bulldozed a town in 2004 after a zoning dispute and has since become lionized by the Boogaloo movement.

Heemeyer is known as Killdozer and is frequently referenced in anti-government and Boogaloo Facebook groups and Discord chats.

"Become unreasonable" has become a mantra and a meme in some Boogaloo groups.

Carillo's alleged cop ambush comes almost 16 years to the day of Heemeyer's bulldozer spree, in which he destroyed 13 buildings in Granby, Colorado before killing himself.

Boogaloo groups are still allowed on Facebook. The company told NBC News it is now “preventing these Pages and groups from being recommended."

The account the president just retweeted last night posted a video with the caption "rain hell on these animal thugs @realdonaldtrump."
The tweet the president retweeted by an account that's since been suspended by Twitter was just a compendium of QAnon rallying cries bookending a Reagan quote.
