1. Just how idiotic is the 'gender identity' lobby? It's a question raised by this wonderful thread by @simonjedge It follows an admission by the editor of Pink News @ryanjohnbutcher that he doesn't know even the basics about the Gender Recognition Act.👇
2./ He and his news outlet campaigned vociferously for Reform of the Act but never realised you don't currently need to go through hormones or surgery to get a gender certificate recognising your new chosen sex. Here's C4 correcting Pink News. Ouch.👇channel4.com/news/factcheck…
3./ This issue was key to the whole reform debate. Our side said current safeguards such as a diagnosis of gender dysphoria should stay. The other side said these safeguards were somehow tyrannical. But it turns out they'd completely misunderstood the law they wanted to reform.
4./ It's not just Ryan and his motley Pink News crew who haven't a clue. @MrJohnNicolson, the hilariously pompous promoter of gender reform and self-appointed expert on all things trans recently discussed the GR Act on his @talkRADIO show. I was left speechless.
5./ Here he is lamenting the "fact" (he claims) trans people currently have to wait for 2 years before they can apply to get a certificate that will then allow them to get "sex change" surgery. That's the trans equivalent of weapons grade ignorance.👇
6./ When he spoke in the debate at Westminster on reform of the G R Act Nicolson had the gall to rebuke the redoubtable feminist @CarolineFlint for raising concerns about the risks to women if single sex spaces became gender neutral. 👇 
7./ We now know he can't possibly have given the risks to women a second's thought because he hasn't the foggiest about even the basics. Then there's his colleague @KirstySNP who last week managed to match even Nicolson in arrogance and ignorance.
8./ Kirsty is, wait for this, the Deputy Leader at Westminster of the SNP; a party that's championed trans issues. Here she's debating with all the sanctimony she can muster against the legend that's @HotchkissRhona from @ALLIANCELGB. How DOES Rhona manage not to roll her eyes?
9./ Did you notice the phrase at the beginning of Kirsty's waffle, "my own clear views are"? No one who has clear views ever says that. It's an undeniable signal someone has barely cobbled together their views; a process in Kirsty's case that's obviously still underway.
10./ Here she is last week declaring her clear and not at all cobbled together view that transwomen aren't just women, they're female. Some trans activists who've barely left secondary school might make this claim but leading activists never do. Why? 👉
11./ It would drive a coach and horses through the Scottish govt's claim it will not change the exceptions under the Equality Act on single SEX spaces. It would ALSO implode the very meaning of 'gender identity' to equate it with biological sex. And how do we know that? 👉
12./ Stephen Whittle is the UK's most influential trans pioneer. A transman, and leading lawyer 'he' helped shape everything from the original GR Act to the dodgy Yogyakarta Principles to which the Scottish govt pays such obeisance. He also disagrees with Kirsty...👉
13./ Here's Whittle explaining THE basic fundamental tenent of trans ideology: that gender identity isn't the same as biological sex and therefore has nothing to do with 'male' and 'female'. After all, cats and dogs have biological sex. They don't have gender identity. 👇
14./ Our side doesn't actually believe gender identity exists. It's an invention to try to solve the inherent contradictions in trans ideas. But we understand its theoretical importance. The notion is SO central to trans ideology the entire edifice would collapse without it.
15./ Not that @KirstySNP has grasped this. When I challenged her saying she was effectively rewriting basic trans ideas on the hoof she responded with what she thought was proof the trans lobby now claims transwomen are biologically female. Yup, a T-shirt.👇
16./ Since this online site allows you to create a design with any slogan you like, this is a bit like pointing to a T-shirt on sale that says "Priests Can Marry" and claiming that's now official Roman Catholic policy. So what can we conclude from all this?
17./ The gender critical movement may be up against a lobby with formidable resources and influence. They've permeated public life and inserted their exotic ideas like bad computer code into the media and institutions. But we appear to have one enormous advantage. 👉
18./ It's now clear the refusal of the trans lobby and its cheerleaders to debate its demands and its claims has been much more harmful to their side than ours. We're constantly being challenged, asked to explain ourselves. Our brains and ideas are given a continual workout
19./ Their side tho luxuriates in the warm soporific bath of celebrity approval, corporate sponsorship and self-righteous virtue signalling. In this sealed bubble, without scrutiny, their ideas have gone AWOL, hybridising into notions that don't even make logical sense.
20./ In the absence of criticism many of their spokespeople have also grown so lazy they don't even bother to find out the basics or comprehend what they're arguing for. They better hurry. @jkrowling's intervention has alerted the public to this debate as never before.
21./ Ryan, Kirsty, Nicolson and the other grandees of the cult of Gender Identity will try to patronise the public. They'll claim punters just can't grasp the wonderful strangeness of their trans ideas. But if this week has shown us anything it's not the public that are idiots.
