1. @austinkleon and @malcolmguite are two very different kinds of artists. But they both share what they’re working as they work. This develops communities of people interested in their work. It’s democratic and open and shrewd all at the same time.
2. Yesterday, @malcolmguite invited his followers on @YouTube and @Facebook to watch as he signed a contract with @canterburypress for his corona of sonnets in response to #thePsalms (all 150 of them), written during the #pandemic). He’s shared many of the poems online already.
3. The contract-signing seemed a very @AustinKleon-thing to do. I love how these two and others engage others. For too long, artists have ensconced themselves from others, helping to make their work inaccessible. Guite and Kleon are taking a different path.
