It's Monday night. Fresh off a major approval of a Ballantyne transformation, Charlotte City Council will vote on projects tonight that will dramatically change Dilworth and east Charlotte if approved #CLTCC
It looks like an episode of Hollywood Squares tonight #CLTCC

If apartments are built, Atrium is committed to making 60% of them workforce housing (80% AMI). @Larken calls this a major change and says @ViLyles helped get it in place. The Atrium rezoning passes unanimously. Previous story #CLTCC wsoctv.com/news/local/nei…
Tonight's meeting isn't very TV friendly. Going to have to work some editing magic with these soundbites #CLTCC
Ballantyne is about to be re-imagined. Council formally approves the 450+ acre project by a 8-3 vote. Councilmembers Winston, Newton, Johnson voted no. Previous article wsoctv.com/news/local/425… #CLTCC
Charlotte City Council unanimously passes the Eastland rezoning, paving the way for the MLS headquarters and practice facility to be at this site. Plans also call for apartments, retail, restaurants, housing and a 2 acre park #CLTCC
Charlotte City Council is now discussing a 104 unit apartment complex in Seversville that will be car-free (only 6 parking spaces). It's right across from Blue Blaze Brewing #CLTCC
City staff calls the parking reduction "pretty significant." The project would be directly next to a greenway and about a half mile from the future streetcar line #CLTCC
This would be a car-free development. 52 of the 104 units would be workforce housing (80AMI). The developer is not asking for any public subsidy for this affordable housing project. Not having parking allows the developer to do this- It costs about $30K per parking space. #CLTCC
Amar Johnson says the Seversville Neighborhood Association is opposed to the development. He called it a "monstrosity of a project"
Residents of the car-free development will have to agree in their lease to not have a car. @Larken asked about enforcement. The developer says "we will evict you if you buy a car." The developer says neighbors will help police it #CLTCC
Having no parking will save residents $250/month on rent, the developer says. @Larken believes there's enough people in Charlotte who live a car-free lifestyle that would fill this development. It's a four year project if approved #CLTCC
The attorney for the developer predicts Seversville is going to explode soon. He says #CLTCC should lock down affordability while they can
