Furious at news that we have lost one CO and two jawans in 'stone pelting' on the LAC

Unacceptable and largely due to our weak Rules of Engagement. We should be carrying weapons with orders to shoot FIRST

We are up against a revisionist enemy. Their claim lines keep moving forward, keep morphing. They will never stop unless a cost is imposed. The only cost they are scared of is their troops and officers dying of bullets.

That is our trump card but we don't use it

Because we still don't understand their psyche. We continue to look at them through our own reference and ethical framework - treaties matter, rule of law matters, they will escalate if we start anything

All wrong. Treaties don't matter and they will NOT escalate if we fire

This was proven in 1967 by Lt Gen Sagat Singh then GOC 17 Mt Div at Nathu La. Arty roared, chinese were mowed down and there was peace. Lt Gen Hanuth Singh GOC 17 Mt Div in 1982 reinforced this.

He changed the 'patrolling without weapons' paradigm

Ordered patrols to carry weapons and to deploy tactically in strength and defend our claim line.

Above all to ensure that we would always open FIRE FIRST. Failure to do so would result in courts martial for cowardice

Strategy dictates it, tactics cry out for it, & above all nation's and soldier's honour demands it
