today is a big day in Romania politics: the Governor of central bank @bnr_ro Mugur Isarescu, in post for the past 31 years, has been identified in the press as undercover officer for the feared Security Services during Ceausescu regime

the rumour has been there for a long time, but it seems the National Commission for the Archives of the Security (CNSAS) is about to confirm publicly that he worked under code name 'Manole'

CNSAS has rejected these 'rumours' before, but now ready to change position as Law passed in Parliament recently prevents high-level public functionaries from hiding

it's hard to exaggerate Romanian obsession w Security 'collaborators', it doesnt get more high profile than this.
Isarescu is the most powerful figure in Romanian politics, enjoyed high public trust

first article is old (2017), apologies, I should have read more carefully - but now the Romanian press has picked up the CNSAS news

I am told that justice system cannot confirm/reject claim that he was undercover officer (however well documented in 2017 article) but only his collaborator status.

here is one deeply misogynist informant note - claiming that Irina Dumitriu
(a) complains too much about shortages;
(b) is too eager in her work, antagonising other women colleagues (?????)
(c) has become bitter after her divorce, loneliness pushing her to overachieve.
