I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by Twitter, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the mentions at dawn looking for an angry fix,
blue checked hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night

When it comes to turning people into gibbering mental cases, Twitter is worse than meth, crack, lead paint chips, syphilis, and college combined

I'd guess about 25% of the accounts I follow on Twitter were initially because I thought they occasionally had something funny or interesting or profound to say; now it's mostly due to morbid curiosity

I leave it to others to judge whether this place has mentally broken me, but I like to think that there are some of us who can hold our Twitter as well as we hold our liquor

But for the most part, this needs to be hung in every newsroom in America
