Reverend Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, Tywanza Sanders, Reverend Clementa Pinckney, Cynthia Hurd, Reverend Daniel Simmons, Reverend Depayne Middleton-Doctor, Susie Jackson, Ethel Lee Lance, and Myra Thompson.
Nine beautiful spirits. They were also grandparent, parent, children, teacher, pastor, choir singer, library manager, college graduate, and state senator. They are remembered as the #CharlestonNine.
They were killed by mass shooting at the hands of white supremacist dylan roof five years ago today.
We'll never forget. We light our candles for these nine souls. We raise their names and continue persisting for a world free of anti-Black racism and violence.
